I wouldn’t blog this but I figure he is laughing and joking about it, then it is ok to blog.
Iiww didn’t show up for work on Monday. Pretty normal. His mother called and said iiww is in the hospital and gave some phone numbers for him if we wanted to call. No explanation just numbers.
Iiww had been on anti-depressants for less than a week. His nurse told him absolutely no drinking while taking it. He does good until Friday. Guess the weekend pressure is too much for him. Here is the story he gave us.
He said he blacked out while driving home after work Friday. But he told Bob earlier that he was having strange thoughts on the way home. First inconsistency in the story, if you are blacked out how do you remember strange thoughts?
Bob asked him if he had been drinking. Iiww said no at first. But after a while he told Bob yes he had a little bit. I am getting this part of the story from Gwen.
Bob and John walk into my office. Bob starts telling me the story but then iiww walks in. So we talk small talk for a minute. I ask iiww right out, so what was your problem? I know, not very good manners but I have to know.
So he repeats the blacking out thing and I ask him about drinking. He smiled and said yes. He had about ¾ of a bottle of Jack Daniels and seemed pretty proud of that fact. Ok, I’m thinking that is a little?! He then precedes to tell us he doesn’t remember anything and his buddy had to call 911. The Cops show up along with an ambulance. I guess the cops know where he lives from some previous encounters. He is taken to the emergency room.
He tells us it was a reaction to the meds. We ask don’t you think the drinking had anything to do with it? Nope, it was all the meds. He says he is carrying around his arm band from the hospital so when he starts to drink again it will remind him. John says “Well isn’t it a little late if you already start?” They argue for a minute and I say you mean BEFORE you start, right?
Of course he agrees. John then starts laughing and says I don’t believe you iiww. Iiww says yes he is never drinking again. Again John says I don’t believe a word you say and starts to walk out laughing. Iiww said some choice words to him.
So it is just me, Bob, and iiww in my office. Bob is sitting in the chair and iiww moves to the door. We talk about who prescribed his meds and he said she wasn’t licensed to do so. Yep we argue over that fact. Iiww starts talking about some doctors appointment he has. I am lost over that one. But he is still laughing about the situation.
Iiww goes back to work. Bob and I are just shaking our heads. Bertha comes in. I ask Bob about the appointment and why it was through EAP.
Bob said earlier iiww told him he had to get a psych evaluation. Bob asks him if it was court ordered. Iiww said no, it was through the state. Bob says then it is court ordered.
We all figured that he must have had a bit of alcohol poisoning. Bob says he told him earlier he had to have his stomach pumped in the emerg. He still laughs and says it was the meds.
Just think folks, 300,000 sperm and that one got through.
